When our family relocated from Chicago to Memphis last year, we were looking for ways to connect with our new community. The first event we participated in was the Forest Spence Fund’s annual 5K race. We were inspired by the mission of this incredible organization, which provides essential support to Memphis-based families while their children undergo treatments for severe illnesses.

The Forest Spence Fund does more than just offer financial assistance; they provide emotional support, resources, and a sense of hope during some of the most challenging times a family can face. By stepping in with practical help—whether it’s covering the cost of travel for treatment, offering counseling services, or simply being a shoulder to lean on—the Forest Spence Fund ensures that no family has to go through this journey alone.

This will be our second year participating in the race, and we’re more committed than ever to supporting this cause. We believe in the power of community, and we’ve seen firsthand how the Forest Spence Fund uplifts and strengthens families in Memphis.
